NINA  JOAN  KIMBALL is a founding partner of Kimball Brousseau LLP.  Ms. Kimball has practiced employment law for 19 years, representing both employers and employees.    She advises her clients on a wide range of employment issues including discrimination, executive compensation, employment agreements, non-compete agreements, wage and hour issues, drafting employee handbooks, and the Family & Medical Leave Act.  Ms. Kimball litigates cases in state and federal court and before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.   

Ms. Kimball is active at the Boston Bar Association (BBA) where she Co-Chaired the Solo & Small Firm Section (2003-2005) and fills various roles on the Labor & Employment Law Steering Committee.  In July 2004, the BBA featured Ms. Kimball as its “Member on the Move” in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.  Ms. Kimball chaired the MBA Labor and Employment Section Council in 1999-2000, and chaired the MBA Committee that drafted Maternity Leave Guidelines for the MCAD.   Ms. Kimball is also a member of the Massachusetts chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Women’s Bar Association.  Ms. Kimball has written and spoken extensively on employment law topics including sexual harassment, FMLA, employee handbooks, privacy and electronic communications. 

Prior to forming her firm, Ms. Kimball practiced with Dwyer & Collora and with Foley Hoag & Eliot.  She graduated from Phillips Academy, and received her B.A. from Yale College and her J.D. from George Washington University, where she was Editor in Chief of The George Washington Law Review.  She clerked for Chief Judge Spottswood W. Robinson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

JUSTINE  H.  BROUSSEAU is a founding partner of the law firm Kimball Brousseau LLP.  She focuses her practice on employment law and civil litigation.  Ms. Brousseau has an active trial practice, representing plaintiffs, individuals and management in state, federal and appellate courts, and before state and federal agencies, as well as in arbitration and mediation. 

 

Ms. Brousseau is active in both the Boston Bar Association (BBA) and the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA).  She serves as a member of the BBA Education Committee and is Co-Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee for the Labor and Employment Section.  At the BBA, she has served in various roles on the Labor and Employment Section Steering Committee including as Co-Chair (2001-2003).   Ms. Brousseau also served on the Labor and Employment Section Council of the MBA.  She chaired its Employee Rights and Responsibilities Committee where she co-chaired the MBA Committees responsible for drafting the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination Disability Law Guidelines and the Employment Regulations.  Ms. Brousseau is a member of the Massachusetts chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Rhode Island Bar Association.   She has lectured and written on many substantive employment law and litigation subjects for continuing legal education publications and programs. 

 

Ms. Brousseau is a 1984 graduate of Providence College and received her J.D. from New England School of Law in 1988.  She is a member of both the Massachusetts and Rhode Island bars.

BETH  HENNESSY is a paralegal at Kimball Brousseau LLP, providing legal support to both partners, as well as serving as Office Manager.  Ms. Hennessy has more than eighteen years of paralegal experience, during which she has worked actively in many areas of law, including employment law, all aspects of litigation, as well as estate planning and probate administration, real estate, corporations, domestic relations, and municipal law.  Ms. Hennessy assists the firm’s attorneys in drafting court pleadings, discovery and correspondence, as well as performing legal research and maintaining contact with the clients, courts, and opposing counsel.  Ms. Hennessy often assists the attorneys in preparing their articles and presentations for employment law conferences and seminars in which they participate.  She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is a graduate of the Northeastern University Paralegal Certificate program, where she also completed extended courses in legal research and writing.
